Default Had a talk with the ex-wife

The other day I was showing my ex the video below. Then I told her that I would like to get our daughter, who is 5, her first rifle soon. I told her that I'd like to get her to shoot competitively if she likes it and shows a strong interest in it and that way there's no curiosity, and when she's old enough to be home alone she would know what to do if some one broke in. My ex said that's fine and she'd enjoy tagging along for some of her range trips.

    She sounds like a keeper!

    Oh wait...

Seriously though I hope all goes well and the kid enjoys the trigger time.

I don't know what kind of relationship you guys have as far as being civil, but consider the things she might say in court later regarding allowing your daughter to use a firearm.

This might be one thing you'd want to discuss with your lawyer.
    Perhaps something in writing.

I'm by no means suggesting it's a bad idea, just that sometimes things get "forgotten" in court, like giving permission at one time.

I think it is great that you want to get your daughter into shooting.

However, don't push her into competitive shooting if she doesn't want it herself. That might turn her off to firearms overall.

    Good Luck!

Unfortunately, i think flathead is right. Marriage/divorce is a business.
If it were me though, i would get her a rifle anyway. Fuck the system....

I understand what your saying. My ex is actually pro gun and actually keeps asking when I'm going to sell her my glock 20. It took almost 2 years for us to be civil. Here current boyfriend is in the air force and is pro 2a as well.

    It's a good idea.

It's also nice to see someone have a good working relationship with their ex. I cant tell you how often I'm at a gun range/show/shop and I hear the "My #@%$ ex-wife..." statement by someone

I actually went to the range on Sunday with a bunch of friends and my ex and her bf. Her bf and I actually get along great. Which I'm glad that we can get along and be civil.

I just watched the video. Holy crap do I feel inferior now.

I feel the need to go grow a manly beard, or put a lift kit on my truck, or something.
