Ammo pricing bottom??
It appears the big scare is in the rearview, and 22LR is finally available and down to 3 or 4 cents a round again. What's the general consensus, do we think this is the bottom, that ammo is pretty much a few percent above the commodity pricing and labor to make it? It is still a little higher then before the big Obama scare, but that was also pushing a decade ago now, so it may never see those prices again. That said, I remember that right before things went crazy, I was getting a case of 9mm for right around 180 bucks and today, in LGS I am seeing 190-200. It's like playing the stock market, speculating when the price will jump again, or will it go down more, and what the next political chess play will be that spikes price and creates the next rush.
I hope I don't jinx us!

I really don't see it getting any/much lower. Quite the opposite, actually with the 2020 elections coming up and some of the candidates that are running, along with the fact that the media will once again claim the "Rs" are going to lose.

Yup, give it another 8-12months and I am sure prices will start to climb.
Its almost cheaper to buy ammo versus reload for my one bolt gun these days. 9mm and 556 are pennies when you buy in bulk. I mean shit, you can get stripped lowers for $40, market is saturated and its showing.
Happy days indeed.Una Salus Victis Nullam Sperare Salutem

I 3rd that. They might stabilize for a while but I doubt that they'll go any lower.

Re: Ammo pricing bottom??
I’m with the stabilized crowd. You might see an incredible deal here or there, but I think on the whole the market has leveled out. Prices are higher because like most things they have been hit by inflation. I don’t ever expect gas to go back to below $1. I don’t expect to see cars that sell for $5000 again, and I don’t expect to see bricks of .22 go for under $10 again.
Basically now is the time to buy. Buy it cheap, stack it deep.Last edited by internet troll; March 2nd, 2019 at 01:51 PM.

I can't see it getting much cheaper. This is the time to buy everything you can afford.
Oddly it seems primers and powder are still high.

Re: Ammo pricing bottom??
Just ordered a case of Speer Lawman TMJ @ $.17 a round. Love that I won't be breathing lead vapors while shooting it. Anybody else use it?
