NJ DL and FID transportation hand gun to New PA home
I have a question I hope someone can answer. We just recently bought a home in PA, Still have my NJ DL and FID. I have to go there tommorow to do a few things I was thinking on stopping by the range in PA for a bit before heading to the new home.. My question is it legal to leave the range (in pA) with the handgun and head to the new home in PA then back to NJ in the night.. ?
Thank you in advance

While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: NJ DL and FID transportation hand gun to New PA home
Sentence communicated by Governor Christie and appealed in NJ and decided as, "Based upon the Appellate Division decision and the gubernatorial commutation the State believes that it would be a waste of both judicial and prosecutorial resources and contrary to the interests of justice to further pursue count one of this indictment. For that reason, the State requests that count one of this indictment be dismissed." Further attempts to clear Brian are still pending also.

I would like to hear from an actual legal authority because the OP's description meets every requirement of the interstate transportation law.

No legal eagle here but I agree. NJ directly to a range in PA, that satisfies the NJ portion. Once in PA free to move about. Then directly from the PA home to the NJ residence, again satisfying the NJ portion.
That said, and regardless of the eventual outcome of the Aiken case, I'd agree with Curmudgeon, once you have you guns in PA leave them here. NJ is notoriously anti-gun and you could end up arrested and have to fight in court, no matter how legal you are.

Re: NJ DL and FID transportation hand gun to New PA home
What SB said is excellent advice...
I started working NJ 11 years ago (I am a PA resident)...there is a range in PA on my way home from work and I thought great...take my guns to work, stop at the range on the way home...Later found out that was not the smartest thing to do.
Still pissed to this day that I can not freely move about in NJ with my firearms.
