A bolt action .22LR for small-game
Anyone got anything they can recommend? I'd like to put a scope on it and I'd prefer it to be a "repeater", but still bolt or lever action. I'd say around or under $200, if possible. Any rifle/scope combinations y'all like for this kinda sport?
Thanks as always,
Jeff

Marlin 925
Birch stock, blued action/barrel. Around $175 NIB.
Pick a low power scope for hunting. A fixed 4 power Simmons or Bushnell wont cost you much.
The .22 LR is a 50 yard hunting rifle, don't buy a huge scope for a 50 yard rifle.

I love my henry lever gun, which would be my small game gun if I prefer to go 22 insted of shotgun.
made in the USA, great customer service, just a hair over 200 with the PICS and whatnot.

im gonna say that i think a savage mark 2 is one of the best values here.
accutrigger, solid construction, 10rd mag, and crazy accurate - all for less than $200.
thats my vote!

What ever you get, get a good scope. Spend at least $40 on one. So many people think it's just a .22 and you don't need much of a scope on it. Spending a few dollars more will help you so much. Bushnell and Tasco make some nice .22 scopes for under $50.

Dicks Sporting goods or Cabelas have the Ruger 10/22 for 189 most days.

Another vote for the Marlin 925. Great little rifle and mine is older than I am.
