Another innocent life lost to prohibition. Sadly these incidents are not rare. Radley Balko points them out multiple times a week at his website www.theagitator.com
Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
When I see something like this it makes think we are close to the breaking point. There is no accountability for the individual members off a swat team. The cliche is they were '' following orders". I believe the only way to stop things like this from happening is for all of the people involved to be held criminaly accountable. That means from the top to the bottom.
I have heard the argument that Leo's are just regular people and they can make mistakes too. In my oppinion they should be held to a higher standard because they chose their line of work and it involves life and death situations.
I know there are good leo's out there and I don't direct any negative comments or feelings toward them but when they just stand by and allow their fellow officers to get away with murder they are no longer the ''good guys" either. Some people just plain suck.
If you're gonna be dumb ya gotta be tough.

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
20 million isn't enough.
All officers involved in the raid should be fired, along with those who ordered the raid.

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
Nope, $20 million isn't enough.
$100 million, plus those who participated are fired and brought up on criminal homicide charges.
State-sanctioned murder is all this was, perpetrated by a bunch of gung-ho, adrenaline-soaked, egomaniacal, Dirty Harry wannabes.
He had no criminal record, no "contraband" was found in the house, decorated war veteran... WHY did they have a search warrant?
$20 million won't cover the lawyer fees, and the therapy that 4-year-old who had to walk past his blood-soaked dying father will end up in.Last edited by Dosbomber; August 14th, 2011 at 03:33 PM.

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
Good to know I am not the only one disturbed by this. How can these police tactics be changed? How can civilians start the ball rolling that this style of raid is not acceptable in this country?

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
Imo, law enforcement uniforms should feature badge numbers permanently displayed in 6 inch block numbers on the front and rear.
I've felt that way after the cops in this video were "not able to be identified" because there were too many in the area. As if they didn't know who each other were.
"X is what percentage of Y?" Divide the first number by the second, multiply the answer by 100. Add a percent sign. Think.

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
$20 million is enough if it comes out of their<responsible parties> pockets and assets as opposed to our taxes...
this whole thing still pisses me off so much, the officer's jumping into the line of fire to get a few shots off, stumbling over each other.
F-ing idiots...

Re: Wow this is scary stuff
In these lawsuits they are suing the city, not the officers. The City gets their money from the taxpayers, aka the victims neighbors, and the victims. If the city runs low on funds then they get money from the state and if the state runs low on funds the state gets money from the federal government. The fed gets their money from us.
We need policy changes not lawsuits.Let's not forget there are still species of tropical penguins living in the Galapagos.
