Help On PA ACT 235 - 120 ?
Hello Everyone ... Its me again.. Wanna say thanks to those whom helped me with getting permit.
Now How do i go about getting the PA ACT 235 . Can i have it wavied, as for i have been train by my Dept.
Can somebody explain to me whats the next procedures to obtain the 235 or the 120. ???

You can go to an accredited Municipal Police Acad. and get the 120. There are also several places in PA that offer 235. I think a google search would be where you could start. Also, check out Indiana University of PA for an idea of ACT 120 prices and what not.

As for act 235, yes they do waivers. They have a list of schools that they will do waivers for. EDIT: they do not do waivers unless you are a certified municipal police officer per Jody Lagyak at the lethal weapons office, sorry for the bad info.
Here is the PA State Police Act 235(Lethal weapons act) site. I would contact one of the contacts on that page for details.
As for Act 120(municipal police officer act) , I believe the only way to get a waiver is to best a certified police officer in another state. Otherwise you must complete a municipal police academy.Last edited by paemt; November 7th, 2008 at 04:34 PM.
