Wanting to add a "higher end" firearm to the safe...
Sold some guns to buy myself one really nice one. Not sure what I should get. I stock 9mm, 40S&W, 12 gauge, 380 & 22LR. Not looking to stock another caliber unless it is 45ACP for a nice 1911.
Not interested in any revolvers. Don't think it'll be a shotgun as those are what I shoot the least.
Handled a Springfield Emissary 1911, HK VP9 & Sig P320 Spectre yesterday. That 1911 is beautiful to look at, but those grips were uncomfortable and they are part of what makes the gun for me so unfortunately I think I have to pass on that particular model.
Sigs still don't feel right in my hand so they are out once again.
The VP9 felt great and I'm sure it would be dead nuts reliable because my USP was. However, I am looking for something a little more special or at least gets me more excited. Not that I don't want the VP9 because I do.
They also had a Wilson combat that really didn't do anything for me looking at especially for $1,600 and they had a colt commander 1911 but it was 9 mm. Looked beautiful but again 9 mm so as much as it annoys me that I'm going to have to stock another caliber with 45 I think I have to buy a 1911 in 45 only. Am I wrong here?
They also had plenty of Rock Island 1911s and I loved mine when I had it years ago but I'm looking for something a little more special If I'm buying new.

How about a nice AR-9? You could go for either a rifle or a pistol.

Yep, you're wrong. Wrong from everyone who responds. Wrong, wrong and wrong. Try a nice, juicy H&K Mark 23. That's higher end for you and a .45 at that. You'll be the envy of the range and it's fun to fondle whilst watching Clint Eastwood movies too. Otherwise, I also have a VP9, which I do like and is accurate but my EDC is a USP9C and I do like it a lot. I find it's plenty accurate and not too cumbersome to tote around.

How much are you looking to spend?
Belgian FN Hi Power? Maybe one with the stock.
P08?
Colt 1911?
HK P7?
HK SP5 or SP5K PDW?

Try one of the Sig top end 1911's. We bought a Scorpion 1911 and out of the box it was as slick as my Wilson full dressed 1911. The Sig STX Full Size looks awfully good.
