Default It's official... Wendy's International is anti-gun... well, maybe not.. not sure

I wanted to start a new thread, because the update is pretty big.

I went to speak with the owner of the Wendy's today. He had just left, so I called him on his cell phone. He apologized and said that he talked to Wendy's International and it's their corporate policy that firearms are not allowed in any of the restaurants regardless of what the owner wants.

He actually had to put up signs on all the doors saying "No Firearms permitted." He's going to get me a phone number of Wendy's International so I can call and address the situation. We'll see what happens.

But for now it's official. Wendy's is anti-gun.

    UPDATE:

Apparently not. I just got off the phone with the owner again and he said he moved it up the chain of Wendy's International. He said they will not take a stand, so if the owner wants guns and the store allows it, then guns are allowed. He said the guy he talked to yesterday was making policy that he didn't have the authority to make. When he spoke with the corporate official today he was told Wendy's International won't take a stand and individual state laws and owners will make the decision.

The owner runs several restaurants in about half a dozen cities and he said he's in the midst of calling all of his managers and telling them to take down the "No Guns allowed" signs.

What a story. On Saturday I was thrown out and the owner says guns are okay. On Monday I'm thrown out and I'm told guns are not okay. Then the owner calls again and says they're okay.

I'm going to wait an hour or two and then call the local store and speak to the manager to make sure that the message is getting out.

    Update 2:

I just got off the phone with the manager. He said that as of right now the signs were down. The owner is still talking with Wendy's International to make sure of all the various legal rights.

The manager claimed to be pro-gun, but then dropped several bombs on me. He said it was a family restaurant so I shouldn't even bring a gun there, and he said that by exercising my right to OC I was causing a stir which might make the government restrict those rights. So basically he said that if you exercise your rights they might be taken away so you shouldn't exercise them.

He then told me that he called the Sheriff to "investigate my permit."

It was a very weird conversation. He said "The signs are down now, but they may come back up..." so I'll call it a tentative win. As of this very moment I can CC/OC in the Wendy's in State College.

With this back and forth, though, who knows what the future holds.

Is it possible to get this in writing?

It's going to be hard to not frequent an anti-gun establishment that is so pro-bacon.

While we don't eat a Wendy's often we have been in one with DC OCing and didn't have a problem. Maybe they just didn't see it at that time. I'm really interested in what Corp has to say about this. It would be a shame to have to put them on the No Guns, No Cash list.

I just update the first post, folks. Seems the owner really is pro-gun, because he escalated the situation up the corporate ladder. Read the update for more information.
