Idiot at SG #91 today.

Went up there to check out some loads for my Savage 12FV, shoot my AR and also try out some Hornady 75gr TAP.

Nice day, but a little windy. I was sitting in the middle of the tables, a gentleman (former active duty Marine....Semper Fi) was down to my right and a guy was all the way to our left shooting at the 50yd line.

The guy to my right and I would basically shoot 3-round groups then check our targets. Well, this bone-head to the left would just get up and walk down to check his target........without letting us know!! The first time I let it slide, thinking.........okay, he saw we weren't shooting and were looking through spotting scopes.

But...........when it happened the second time.........as soon as the bone-head got back I said......"you can't be walking down there without letting us know"!

Jeez.........some peoples kids!

The other guy was half tempted to let one fly (safely down range) to see if this guy crapped his pants.

Way back when, before this range was closed, there used to be a 25yd target on the right side. There was a full line of shooters at the benches shooting at 100yds, and this guy thought nothing of it to walk down to check his target at the 25yd line! Talk about a moron!

I would not bet my money on that one. That sort of people are the ones who will shout "don't you have eyes, didn't you see me you <cursing>?" He doesn't think that there is anything wrong with what he is doing. So if something happens, somebody else MUST be at fault. Simple logic.

The whole point is you can't fire one safely down range if a person is down range. Sure the other guy was ignorant, but that doesn't excuse criminal negligence.

Maybe he was a first time shooter. Next time someone does something like that I hope you try to remember we haven't all been shooting since we were in short pants, or had elders to teach us what to do. A quick friendly conversation mentioning PAFOA and proper range behavior would likely have helped more than your exclamation.
