    Default Unique in 9 mm

Has anyone tried 4.8 grn of Unique behind a 115 fmj? Did it cycle the gun? What is the lowest load of Unique you have pushed a 115 with? What is your standard load using Unique and a 115 grn FMJ?

I have used Unique in 9mm. It is dirty as hell - even the new "cleaner burning" formula. HOWEVER, it does seem to burn cleaner if you run hotter loads (I have a feeling it has to do with the higher chamber pressure). IIRC, I run something like 5.8gr under a 115gr FMJ.

    really?

I don't think it's too bad. That's all we run in our pistol loads.

The lowest load I've ever made was 5gr with a 115gr FMJ head, but I normally run 5.7gr.

the gun cycled fine with 5gr.

    We run our loads at:

    5.7gr Unique
    115gr FMJ Frontier bullets
    1.10 OAL

never had a jam or FTF, FTE with that load yet.

    LeeLoad,

I use 5.2 grains of Unique with 115 gr lead (non-jacketed) bullets from Roger's Better bullets down in King of Prussia (Kings). They have the same profile as the 115 FMJs. I agree that Unique is a bit dirty, but I gotta clean the gun anyway. By the way, little or no leading in the barrel with these bullets from Kings.
