Your thoughts on Federal EFMJ....
This is basically an exact repost of a reply I made in another thread, but I think that the EFMJ deserves it's own thread.
I personally trust my safety to Gold Dots.
I never try to succumb to analysis paralysis in order to be on the latest 'bandwagon trend'......But I have been intrigued by the EFMJ's since Federal introduced them.
It's been a while since I've updated myself with how the EFMJ is doing these days, but I still toy with the idea of alternating Gold Dots with the EFMJ in my magazines and cylinders so that thick clothing or whatever won't be an issue for hollow point expansion.
Any PAFOA'ers have EFMJ experience?Gary in Pennsylvania

Re: Your thoughts on Federal EFMJ....
tests i've seen showed some failing to expand and the expanded diameter being smaller than many conventional hollowpoints, also, the expanded round has a smooth profile not conducive to lacerating as it passes.
That all adds up to pretty insignificant increments, so i wouldn't hesitate carrying it if you lived in an area that bans hollowpoints. But if you can use conventional HP ammo, there's no reason to switch.
