I have heard good things about these but haven't used them personally. It has crystals and a small heater inside. It doesn't use batteries, the crystals absorb water while it sits in your safe. Every 6-8 weeks you take the Eva-dry out and plug it in an outlet where it's well ventilated and the heater evaporates the water out of the dehumidifier, then you can just shove it back in your safe. Keep in mind they're also a bit large: Product Dimensions: 8 x 2.5 x 5.5 inches ; 3 pounds

They also make battery-powered ones but I haven't read or heard much about them.

    Thumbs up Boxed Silica

The boxed silica dehumidifiers work pretty well. They have indicators built into the bottom of the package to show the level of moisture they have absorbed.

When full, heat them in an oven for a couple hours to dry out and good to go again.

If you go with this style get one bigger than you think you'll need, using the manufacturers suggestions for the size of the area you need to dehumidify, (it will still be a small package) and it should work fine for ya.

There are several different Silica Gel products that are well suited for storing in a gun safe. We use an aluminum canister with indicating Silica Gel that is easily reactivated in the oven. http://www.silicagelpackets.com/dry-...-canister.html

There are others that will work equally well, it mainly depends on the size of the safe.
