Default Serious question: Which sign would be more effective in dealing with psychopaths?

    Unfortunately, neither one.

You may want to read up on how Israel dealt with a massacre at one of their settlement in the 1970's.

If someone wants something bad enough, a sign will not deter them.

If they don't want it that badly, then maybe it will or maybe it won't.

There's no way of knowing. It's just a sign, it can only do one thing. People can do many, many things.

There is ample empirical evidence that security signs/security systems deter break ins. Breaks ins occur 3-4 times more frequently at houses without security systems.

There are no shootings at NRA conventions and gun show......how much more evidence do you need?

    Agreed

But a sign is an inanimate object and will not do jack shit against someone determined enough to get what they want. It's a very poor security system.

I don't doubt you, but there's a diffence between deterring a robber who wants to get away than a psychopath that intends to commit suicide anyway.

Signs in initial post would make you think that. But follow up posts by op lead me to think he wants a serious answer. Dunno?

The "oomph" so to speak, would be the armed teachers in the school.

The Principal is a hero who lost her life when she charged the madman. Would the outcome have been different if she had a gun? We will never know.......but we do know it could be no worse than the massacre which occurred.
