Citizen vs American
There is a differance, my youngest son could move to France and eventually get citizenship but would never really be a Frenchman. If you weren't raised in a culture you may be accepted as a citizen but it isn't the same as a native borne and raised member of the society.
Also this dual citizenship is a load of crap, suppose there was a war between the two countries which would you choose? It's sort of like Jews for Jesus, if you are for Jesus you are a Christian, not a Jew for Jesus.
NO DUAL CITIZENSHIP-- PICK ONE AND BE LOYAL

You are just jealous. Dual citizenship rocks, and thats what I'm gonna have.

Re: Citizen vs American
Well, Mr Diego you couldn't be more wrong, I wouldn't want to be anything but an American. If you want to be something other than an American then when you get citizenship in another country you should renounce your U.S. citizenship, if you are a U.S. citizen, you can't be equally loyal to two soverign nations.

Re: Citizen vs American
I find it disgusting that you'd think I'd value my loyalties based on what some stupid legal piece of paper says.
I want dual citizen-ship so its easier to travel and move about. My loyalties lie in my freedom, my family and my friends.
If you want to worship at the altar of the state, be my guest. just leave the rest of us alone.==============

Re: Citizen vs American
At least you admit that being an American is just ' a piece of paper' to you and also admit that you are only loyal to yourself and friends or family with no mention of patriotism, sure funny for a guy that posts quotes from founding fathers with each post to this group.
I wonder if whatever country you want citizenship in other than this country will grant the freedoms and rights granted to you in the U.S.

Re: Citizen vs American
You might want to re-read what the founders said, but this time, make sure you actually understand it, unless you want to keep on sounding like a fascist idiot.
The second country that Im getting citizenship from is the U.S. My home country has a deal with the US where we can get dual-citizenship. So imagine if you get offered membership to two ranges, but you decline the second one because you are loyal and patriotic to the first one.==============

Re: Citizen vs American
Mr.Diego, rifle ranges are not countries, and I suggest you look up the definition of facist, neither I or the U.S. are facist.

Re: Citizen vs American
O.K. I believe I'm right and you believe you are, I won't change and neither will you, so let's talk about stuff we agree about, like I hope, interperting the Constitution by original intent and that tha Bill of Rights are the most imporntant ammendments in that document, and that the people formed the government to serve them not the other way around.
