    Default Milton Hershey School

Hey, as long as I have been here I have never asked this question. Any from here attend or graduate from Milton Hershey School?? I went there from first grade to graduation. I graduated in 1999. Loved it, made me the man I am today.

I did not attend but my aunt and uncle are house parents or whatever you call them at the school. They love it.

I moved out of Hershey because of MHS, they own too much dirt that's why the freaking taxes are so damned high in Hershey. My next door neighbor went to MHS, he loved it as well.... must be some kinda sadistic thing.

Mostly rich foreigners there now for skewl from what I've heard

As a member of the alumni association I can assure you that is not the case. Milton Hershey is back to what was intended to do. Be a safe haven and place of knowledge for the needy children from around Pennsylvania.

    Where are they houseparents at??

To my limited understanding of the situation the house parents live in dorm/apartments/house with the kids. Dress them, tend to hair make sure they get to where they belong. I'm sure other things but thats all I know to speak.

You are correct. A houseparent functions as another normal parent would. They have guidelines they must follow and adhere to, but yes very much a parent. Except they get get to do it for 10-12 kids at once. Houseparents are a very special breed of people, God bless em I couldn't do it.
