    Default MAC-10 vs M-11

Looking to get one of these...just because of the history around them, but I don't know which to go with! The major difference is the caliber, but I really have no preference.

I'm looking for any opinions on something like a Cobray M-11 vs the new production VMAC45 or Masterpiece Arms MAC-10. Also, are there any mods out there to make them more.. ergonomic?

As far as the collection goes:

    I have..
    9mm:
    Glock17
    Sig P266
    Beretta 92FS
    B&T TP-9
    MP5 Clone

    45 ACP:
    2x USP45's
    HK USC

Therefore, the MAC-10 is looking preferable, since I only have three 45's. Convince me that I should get the M-11 :P Then begs the question: VMAC45 or MPA MAC-10? Which is better?

Thoughts? I love having a resource like you guys to help me decide on things..

I know you don't want to hear this but i wouldn't buy either of them unless they were full auto.

They are too clunky / heavy to make a good pistol and they are not worth the $200 stamp to make them into sbr's. You cant even put a vert. grip on them or add a strap to make them easier to hold without being in violation of the law.

They are not fun shooters as semi auto pistols.

Really? How come people sell the packages on GB with the strap? AFAIK, a strap is more or less a sling.

REALLY need some definitive clarification on this..

Well, you can wait for others to reply (I would) but I was always under the impression that adding a hand strap to the barrel made it an AOW.

I have no first hand experience with this - I am just going by the things I’ve read / heard over the years.

I don't see how adding a strap to the barrel wouldn't make it an AOW though. A strap is intended as nearly the same thing as a solid vertical grip.

Just because they sell it on GB doesn't make it legal.

I like to err on the side of caution when it comes to NFA stuff - but, I could be wrong.

My point still stands, i wouldn't spend money on either of them as a semi pistol - but different strokes for different folks, as they say.

Yeah, I just did some quick research, and those auctions are NFA violations. The ATF has never ruled one way or another, but it seems that you're right. Glad I found out about this now.

I have found, however, that some people love them... anyone know why this is?

Some love.. some hate... theres gotta be something there..

I have two m11's. They are cool. But would I recomend one to someone? I don't know. They are not super accurate.

What distance are you shooting at? I plan to shoot at steels at about 15-20 yards.

About the same. I never even shot the second one. If you were closer I would let you try them out.

The good thing is they are not horribly expensive.

I thought I had a pic around. The silver one came with the strap. The other came with a fake suppressor.
