Arrow M1 Garand Restoration - anyone know a guy?

I have a pair of Springfield Armory M1 Garands that my wife and I bought through the CMP years ago. I've fired both and they both work, although one is a little stiff. I'd like to have both restored -- bluing/parkerizing, furniture refinished, headspace checked/set, etc. I don't want to necessarily make match guns out of them, just get them back to "like new" condition, both in looks and operation.

Whether I have one or both done right away depends mostly on cost.

Obviously there are talented people who can do this, what I need to do is find out who they are so I can contact them. (I'm in Harrisburg if that matters)

So... does anyone know someone who could help me out?
    Thanks!

(sorry if I posted this to the wrong forum, wasn't sure where to go with t)

That looks like exactly the type of place I need -- and they're in Baltimore too, so close enough for a drive.

    Thanks!

Another guy with a good rep is Tim Shufflin, http://shuffsparkerizing.com - he does nice work. I've also heard good things about Fulton Armory (http://www.fulton-armory.com/).

Are these Garands just shooters or collectibles? What "grade" are they?
You will end up with a nice looking rifle, but you may degrade their value by doing so.

Most of the guys I know love their rifles because of the years of "character" they accumulated, and wouldn't ever think of refinish them.

    Here's a local;

Mike's Shooting Supplies, 21 Overview Drive, Hummlestown, PA 717-566-5778. Specializes in the M1 Garand.

This contact was given to me, but I have not used it so far. He is not too far from the OP.

I'm not sure if he's still in business. Years ago I was over there (he ran the CMP match we shot in to get the guns) but I thought he was out of business for some reason... at least that's what I heard. I could be wrong.

They came from the CMP so I don't think they're too collectible. No clue on the grade. One of them has a really stiff action that I think needs fixing. Obviously I don't want to do anything that would reduce the value, but I don't think these are high end collectibles.

Every M1 from CMP is collectable. One guy offered me $300 more than what I paid for one of my field grades after I cleaned it up. That money went towards my collector grade IHC

Never underestimate the value of a Garand.

Just do a little research on them first. I'm pretty sure they are not "Collectors Grade", but that doesn't mean they can't be worth much more than what you originally paid for them now or down the road. You need to examine the serial numbers, cartouches on the stocks, and the condition of the barrels (throat, muzzle, bore). There is plenty of info on the web for this. Check it out.
