    Default Barrel cleaning issue

So I have an issue cleaning carbon from my pistols, not all of them but several so I believe it’s me and what I’m doing. It seems to happen near the chamber but in the grooves and everything from clp to ballistol to Clenzoil to hoppes mpro7 and ATF fluid. I use brass brushes nylon brushes and let it soak also and seems the only way is to use a pick and scrape it out. Mind you I’m not cleaning my guns after thousands of rounds I’m talking about 150-500 rounds in an afternoon at the range. What is a good bore cleaner for carbon that I haven’t mentioned. I have about 20 products, mostly clp’s but please recommend me something that works. I’m not sure why it bothers me this much but it should be able to be removed

Not sure of everything you mentioned but they seem to be oils and not bore cleaners that use various solvents to cut the carbon. Make a batch of Eds Red and then use it to clean out the carbon and crud. Then use the oils if you want but there is enough residual oils in Eds Red to protect the bore and exterior surfaces..

Google gun carbon cleaner. Read the reviews, make purchase.
There are two kinds of guns. Those I have acquired, and those I hope to.

Late to the game ..... Good old Hoppes, wet it down and let it work overnight.

I gave up the brushing routine loooong ago and all of the bores of my firearms are like new. I always do my cleaning right at the range, never takes longer than 15 minutes and that includes some BS'n.

When shooting jacketed bullets, I always run another swab down the bore a day or so later. Usually get a little more copper stain in the swab. No big deal. Coat lightly with oil. Good for next outing.

I'm interested. Let us know how you make out.
