Pessimist / Optimist... which are you?

Just thinking about the upcoming election and all the threads on here, some saying they are looking forward to the future, others saying they are scared of it...

so which are you? A pessimist or an Optimist? Is the glass half empty or half full? Will the future be full of hope or full of dread?

Personally I call myself a "realist", which I guess is the pessimistic way to refer to a pessimist :P

Optimistic cynic.

I hope for the best, but expect the worst. We will see troubles no matter who wins. It will not be sunshine and lollipops if Obama, McCain, Ron Paul, Bob Barr, or any of the others. We will see tough times, but we as a people will come out on the other side. We have been through it before and will get through it again. Do I think Obama has a greater chance of fucking me without lube? Yeah. Am I afraid he will impede the exercise of some rights? Yep. Will McCain maybe impede on other rights? Probably. Would any of the others? I bet. Until we get back to the idea of citizen politicians we are screwed. What I mean by citizen politicians are not professional politicians who have only one job and that job is being a politician. I want politicians who are everyday people. I want politicians who are at the same time running a farm or running a business.
