Philadelphia shootings stats...
Look at the map. Look at the break-downs. It's a war zone posting every reason to stay away. And this is 3 shootings behind.

Re: Philadelphia shootings stats...
1) From what I know about Philly geography, it would appear that the inverse correlation to income is very strong
2) The war-zone / tribal references are apt up to a point. The problem is that there are many more fundementally good people (100x?) embedded in the conflict zone who are just trying to live their lives. Often, they don't have the realistic option of geographic relocation due to family/social ties, job ties, restart/relocation capital.
3) Directly targeting the combatants, through confrontation or the legal system, makes good folks targets instead of just collateral damage. Of course made worse by the civilian disarmament complex that makes it hard for only law-abiding folks who don't want their lives ruined, while DA Krasner drops illegal posession charges for snowflake career thugs.Keep perspective, recognize the good in your enemies and the bad in your friends.

I'm a firm believer that socioeconomic status & income is the ONLY causation to this type of systemic violence. Yes, many individual factors influence socioeconomics, but the category as a whole is the only determining factor to violence propensity.

Re: Philadelphia shootings stats...
Looking at the whole map at once is not very informative since the dots are so big Philadelphia does look like a war zone. But if you zoom in a few clicks and turn on the heat map you can see where the bad neighborhoods are with many of the areas bright yellow. These are mostly in the North and West and are not places out of town people visit. Looking at the center city to south street/Italian market area there were about 20 shootings and while that seems bad there are millions of people going there every year. And not that it makes much of a difference but just about all of the victims were black. It seems to me that these are just the usual ghetto disputes from the bad areas that just happen to occur in the non ghetto areas. There is no reason to be afraid to visit Philadelphia and see the historic stuff / the nightlife/ or the markets. Just don't be walking alone and drunk after midnight.

How does one use that 85% data without being called a racist?
