Default NASCAR South of the Border

The NASCAR Nationwide Series is about to start their race in Mexico City. It's interesting to see NASCAR's budding popularity outside of the U.S. One thing really just pissed me off though. After doing the Mexican national anthem, then had some Mexican singer do the U.S. national anthem. That guy seriously butchered our anthem. He screwed up the words like 4 or 5 times and didn't seem to know the melody at a couple points. I'm completely fine with international racing, but they should at least find someone who can actually sing the anthem correctly.

What do you other NASCAR fans think of NASCAR moving to international venues (Mexico, Canada, etc.)?

Current trends tend to disagree with you. NASCAR is quickly becoming one of the most popular sporting events in the U.S. (and not only in the south). Personally, I do enjoy watching the road races more than the oval tracks.

In other news, ESPN apparently just lost power down in Mexico City and only have audio feeds now...

and without lights......... and they have to avoid spike strips randomly set on the track and they only do 10 laps and the drivers are all convicted murderers racing for freedom - then it just MIGHT be interesting enough to watch people drive in a circle, lol.......

i don't like the road courses...prefer the short tracks overall...bristol, richmond, etc....

forget the international crap...i prefer NASCAR keeping all of the races in the U.S, whether Cup, Nationwide, and the trucks...Vegas still only has one race per season...it was sold out earlier this year, and they could easily sell out a second race there instead of this off weekend for Cup and Nationwide in Mexico...they're probably heading for Canada in Nationwide next year, eh?
