AR Stock Swap
Just wondering if I'm missing anything. I just ordered a VLTOR EMOD full Kit with a Mil-Spec buffer tube. My Bushy has a commercial tube (going to use it, and the Magpul CTR on it for a DPMS .22 lower, hence buying the whole EMOD kit). All I need to do is remove the buffer spring detent to let the buffer and spring out, use a stock wrench to losen the nut, swap tubes, and use a little blue loctite when I put the new nut on right? Anyone know If I'm missing anything?

Don't use any loctite.

Re: AR Stock Swap
Don't forget the little pin and spring that holds the rear takedown pin in.
Forget about that and the spring will go flying across the room. ARRRRRGH!

Negative on the locktite. A hammer and punch is all that is needed to stake the castle nut properly.

Re: AR Stock Swap
Thanks a bunch guys. Forgot to also ask in my original post if I actually need a lower receiver vise block (to hold the receiver)? I know it would damn sure help, but this is the only stock swap I intend to do, so I can't see shelling out the cash for a one-use tool if I can get by without it.

Thanks a bunch, didn't think I needed any, but just wanted to double check. Forgot to also ask in my original post if I actually need a lower receiver vise block (to hold the receiver)?
