Coin Store
Anyone know own or know of a coin store that buys forigen money. I have bunch of money from Europe and its not longer used. Francs, Gulders, etc were replaced by the Euro...i know my stuff is still worth money but dealing with people on ebay and the people with the fake accounts who just run your stuff up and don't pay along with the guys that bid and don't want it because its not the grade they want is a huge pain in the ass......if someone can help me out or point me in the right direction i'd give them a generous finders fee.

Re: Coin Store
If you can't find a collector or a show where you can sell it, you can always take it to a bank of the country you have money for and exchange it for USD.
I've done it after the Euro was instated. Of course I was still living in NYC and had access to all the different countries banks. Some foreign banks here will take it all. You'd just have to find the right one and get lucky.
Make a few phone calls to the countries banks here in the US. They can point you in the right direction if their policies have changed.
Good Luck!

Re: Coin Store
My uncle found an old note from Brazil. It was worth about $100 US but because it's old nowhere will take it.

Re: Coin Store
You've got way more than I could buy. Here is a exchange rate calculator that's pretty easy to use and has current exchange rates.
http://www.xe.com/ucc/ using that site
Netherlands Gulden - 1297.90---Notes - 1015, Coin - 282.90 = 828.542 USD
French Francs - 745.00---------Notes - 540 , Coin - Not 100% on # = 1,048.09 USD
Iceland Kronur - 9900.00--------Notes - 6500, Coin - 3400 = 77.3840 USD
Swiss Francs - 66.85----------- Notes - 0 , Coin - 66.85 = 61.6188 USD
German Deutschmarks - 40.50---Notes - 0, Coin - 40.50 = 29.1954 USD
Italian Lire - 1850.00 -----------Notes - 1850, Coin - 0 = 1.34427 USD
Austria - 22.5------------------Notes - 0, Coin - 22.50 = 2.30076 USD
There is a place in Annville / Cleona that sells / buys coins and such. Not sure of the number.
A lot of airports that deal in international flights also have a currency exhange place in them.Last edited by tdyoung58; June 29th, 2009 at 12:51 PM.
