    Default m91/38 carcano

greetings from someone who has been lurking and reading.
i dont have the cash and time for school, but have been getting a little instruction from a local smith who is great!
the latest project was a m91/38 carcano, it looked like a bag of rust nodules as someone had dis-assembled the entire thing and left it to rot! rust globbs in a sandwich bag along with dirt and grass, a stock with several large splits and the bolt rusted in place!
here it is now, and un-believeably, the bore was decent, it is a shooter!
so let me know what you think?

The rifle looks great. What did it set you back? I left one go last spring. I had another chance this fall. This one I picked one up for 79.00, but it was missing the hand guard. The over all condition of the funiture, metal and bore I would rate as good to very good. Have you started hand loading for it?

the actual cash out of pocket is $30. it would have been $20 for the rusted bits, but the smith ended up just giveing me a reciept after i helped them for an afternoon of blueing.
so the $30 was for blueing all the parts after it was ready.
here are some closer pics on another thread. had to do it that way because of the board haveing issues with replys some days.
