Thats great to see, but also sad to see the PSP will fight anyone to keep their ultimate authority. Getting rid of PICS sure won't be easy.

The article said he was a former country resident? And studying law at Georgetown, which would be one long commute

I might have to google him and see if I can take him out to lunch one day when I am in DC.

If I remember correctly, the Sheriff of Lancaster County as well as the Pa. State
Police were enjoined in a law suit. As of this time it has been a violation of federal lawto use a SSN for anything else but social security issues. Anyway, the result was LTCF in the place where SSN were printed are now blank. I have the case citation somewhere, I am looking for it. Remember on the Federal Form 1173, the request for SSN is labeled "Optional", PA P.I.C.S. IS MANDATORY. I believe the case was brought by an active duty Military Person, who was orginally
denied a permit by the sheriff and for purchase of a pistol by PA. State Police.

I talk to Michael Stollenwerk via email now and then. I've been meaning to put together a big email about this whole situation and all the updates within the next week or so but I've been busy with rewriting the main website.

I'm honestly not sure if he actually has a forum account.
