    Default Sizes-SW 3953,Sig P239,Beretta 92 Compact

    Greetings All,
I'm thinking of taking an OT check and getting a single stack for the summer. Has anyone actually handled:
    Sig 239-available at area shops
S&W 3953-pops up sometimes for sale at sites
Beretta 92 Compact-co-worker has one maybe will sell it.

I have carried a Sig 239. To be honest, it is NOT THAT MUCH smaller than my 229. I am a large framed guy, so the differnce in size is not worth the difference in capacity.

    I have both the Sig-239 x9mm and the Beretta 92fs "Centurion" x 9mm, both
are excellent. Can be easily concealed from view with the IWB and certian
OWB holsters. The past three months in central pa., Gander Mountian has
been selling used Sig P6's.(225's Single stack) for about $329.00 to $539.00,
depending on the condition. Can not go wrong here if you know the Sig sytem.
Have a couple, new & used. Shoot great, by the way not ashamed to say I
like sig's, then again I like my glocks, then again my Colts 1911's, aw heck,
    i like them all.

Used to have a 239. Beautiful gun but the grip felt too small to me and I don't have big hands. A Smith 39XX has about the ideal single stack grip to my tastes.

I have a Sig 239 9mm; great gun; terrific trigger; extremely accurate.
However I recently purchased a Walther 9mm PPS and after going back and forth with classic ambivalence have decided I prefer the Walther because it has a significantly thinner profile and the weight differential favors it for concealed carry.

I am going to throw a ringer into the mix, the single stack HK P7. Slim, accurate, reliable (cases eject if the extractor breaks off) and great single action trigger pull. Plus, they can be head for a reasonable price of the surplus German police pistol variety.

Given that the last post in this thread before Barry opened it up again today was two and a half years ago, I'm guessing he's already made his decision.
