Thumbs up Re: One hell of a day...

    WOW!!!.................
I spend my day at one job sitting on a recliner, watching TV waiting for the bell to ring and maybe have to crawl in or out of a house that has a fire burning maybe, some where. My other job I drive around in a 'luxury' sedan and 'look' for trouble and maybe find a rude moron who 'knows' the light was yellow.

I stand and salute these guys today, as I do every day. They kick ass there so I don't have to here.

I have a slow connection right now, so I couldn't get the video.

At the awards ceremony, there were 19 Silver Stars awarded. 10 of them went to one team.

I've heard speculation that some of the 10 may be interim awards, probably to potential DSCs.

One of the guys on that team had his leg nearly severed below the knee by a bullet. He applied a tourniquet and stopped the bleeding. Then he TIED HIS BOOTLACES TO HIS BELT SO HIS NEARLY SEVERED LEG WOULDN'T FLOP AROUND, AND CONTINUED TO FIGHT.

He lost the leg, but is trying to get back on full duty with a prosthetic.

I thank these soldiers every time I look into the faces of my children and I know they are safe.

I work for a military contractor, and look to my job as a way of helping the soldiers, but I'm only one cog in a very large wheel.
