    Default Winchester Model 88. .308

    Hello to All,

I have just discovered this forum and I hope that it can solve a problem for me. My Father left to me a Winchester Model 88, .308. I have grown to old to hunt so I have no further use for the gun. Actually I have never even fired it. My Father used it only twice and that was hunting Elk in Utah during the early 60's. I know that it has not been used since then. I have had the gun cleaned and oiled and it does have a scope on it. None of my offsring want the gun so I have deceided to sell it. I do not want to sell to a dealer, I prefer a hunter, one in the Atlanta,
GA area would be best. Then I would not have to UPS it. It is in mint condition and I would like private messages about its sale.

    Thanks, R. Storer

There will be a HUGE difference in price depending on when it was made. Pre-64 Winchesters are much more desirable then post-64's. A pre-64 88 will have cut checkering. A post -64 will have impressed checkering.
A hunter will most likely not care, to a collector that is another story.

    Good luck,
