HOw do you tell what generation your taurus is?
I bought a taurus 24/7 pro 9mm about 2 years ago...(I think). How can you tell what gen the gun is? I have heard some people talking about the 1st and 2nd gen sucked, after that they were fine. I have never had a problem with mine but it got me wondering.

Got the answer from the Taurus site...
1st Generation Guns were marked 'MILLENIUM"and all were DAO
2ND Generation Guns were marked "Pro"
3rd Generation Guns were marked "Millenium" and the word "PRO" was moved to left side.... so would read "PT145PRO" and are SA/DA and it has the Hienie sights

The Millenium Pro is not the same gun as the 24/7. The Mpros are the PT111, pt145, pt145, ect. They are the ones that have been thru 3 generations. Mine is a 3rd gen, it has the SA/DA trigger.

I stand corrected.. you are right...that was for the Millenium series....
According to the Taurus site the 24/7's were as follows:
1st Generation DAO
2nd Generation DA/SA
3rd Generation DA/SA and Hienie sights
Also.. the word PRO on it apparently means either 2nd or 3rd generation..

Didn't mean to come off as a jerk. I just have been thru this before. i bought a gen1 used and it had a crappy trigger. then i checked the taurus armed website (which i should have done first) and found out all the porblems with the gen1 guns. traded it in for a gen3 and have been quite happy with it.
