Default Some ammo makers going 24/7

Saw this on TOS and thought I'd share it here. http://www.cnsnews.com/blog/gregory-...ager-customers What this doesn't talk about is Winchester, Federal, and some of the other, bigger than Hornaday, manufacturers. I'm a pessimist until proven wrong, and will happily be proven wrong. What are the other ammo makers doing to let concerned customers know they are working hard to get it to us, or that they are only producing 5% for the Gov.?
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Spoke with a rep from ATK (Federal, American Eagle, CCI, Speer) last week and he assured us that they are running at 100%. Their focus right now is to get the ammo to the big distributors. The beginning of the year is huge for the manufacturers due to the wholesalers having vendor shows with dealers placing large orders. The current climate made this years orders larger than ever.

That news about the gov and their billion round orders is all bullshit. Yes the orders are real but according to him, the orders are for "up to" (insert ridiculous amount here). That in no way means that they are shipping or have shipped that to the gov.

With the focus on the distributors right now, he said that they will shift focus to big box stores later in the year, when the backorders from the distributors tail off.

Lastly, he mentioned that they would be adding more equipment to their production facilities to increase production on the CCI lines but that will probably not be online until closer to the end of the year.

There is a huge gap between what they increase production to and what the demand is. I have heard that the manufactures can only increase production by 15-20% but the dealers have placed orders for 10-20 TIMES what they normally would order.

Settle in...it is going to take a while for ammo to get caught up. Unless everybody stops going and buying up everything they can as soon as it hits the shelves. That is the cause of the ammo shortage!
