Just for laughs - Ammo prices on GunBroker
Even though we are having beautiful weather this Sunday in Erie I couldnt help but to browse GunBroker.com to check out the ridiculous Ammo prices that people are charging! just insane!
Given the current market Value on 9mm is 13.99 for a box of 50
1. 100 rds Federal 9mm 115 gr FMJ brass 9 mm luger - $60.00
2. 200 rounds 9mm FMJ Ammo American Eagle Federal - $180.00 <-- NUTS!
3. 500rd Winchester 9mm 115gr FMJ Target ammo bullets - $252.00
4. 250 rds Winchester 9mm 115 GR. FMJ - $135.00
5. 100rds Winchester 9mm 115gr FMJ - $40.00
Who actually buys any of these???? I can't wait till manufacturers catch up and I hope all these people get stuck with it all!"May Justice find the wicked and the wings of Liberty never lose a feather."

Sad times indeed. I could see the local shops with a few bucks here and there for an increase..but, the people themselves taking advantage of this whole situation to make a few bucks is just disturbing. Everything I see on Gunbroker is from Walmarts...all the white and yellow boxes of ammo...well, with the warm weather coming around I'm hoping most will have better things to do than rip off their fellow citizens.

If that were current market value, you should be able to buy however much you want at that price. But since you can't, that isn't current market value. You see, market value is the price at which supply and demand are in balance, and that price is obviously a lot higher than $13.99 a box right now.

I paid 15.99 the other day for a box of 50 Blazer brass 115 gr. FMJ and I'm ashamed of that

Re: Just for laughs - Ammo prices on GunBroker
All this kind of reminds me of when I started selling on eBay at the beginning of 1998 before eBay was a big household name where you could buy just about anything. At the time it was oriented completely towards the collector market and the associated small seller. And the big thing then was these stupid Beanie Baby plush toys.
eBay with it's bidding structure fueled the frenzy and people were doing the same thing as the current day Wallyfinders, getting all the intel and gossip, making buddies with flower and toy shop employees, buying whatever Beanie Babies they could get their hands on. There were some that even sunk their life savings into the things.
TY the toy company of course was running full steam pumping these things out as fast as they could.
And then one day, almost collectively, just about everyone looked at their rooms and walls stuffed with these dust collecting useless fur balls that probably cost 25 cents to make and someone hit the Sell! button. And it was a total massacre I watched unfold on ebay. People could not give them away and lots of people were wailing about losing everything.
It's the same deal here. Winchester, Remington, Prvi partisan, Tula, Fiocchi, you name it, they are all pumping out ammo as fast as they can. One day some will be looking at all that Remington UMC and Tulammo staring back at them, piling up and someone is going to hit that Sell! button in a big way.
The race to the bottom can be just as exciting as the race to the top.

One difference between ammo and Beanie Babies: You can go to the range and USE the ammo.
