    Default Opinions on the PatchWorm?

I've seen it mentioned a few places, and obviously I can see how it might be an advantage over a metal rod, but does it work? Their website makes it seem as easy and 1 2 3, but does it clean well?

Sorry, I'm going crazy waiting for my 10 day waiting period to be up so I can take my CZ 452 FS home, but I do know sometimes it has some cosmoline on it and it may be a good idea to clean it before I fire it the first time.

"PatchWorm" is a good product, good idea that works. It works especially well in CZs/bolt actions.

A 10 day waiting period is just wrong...I feel for you buddy. Kalifornia gun laws are enough for me to never even consider living there.

I've got an Otis pull-though kit, the "tactical" one I think. I use it all the time for rifles and pistols.

In theory, it should be safer for the bore, but there are lots of opinions on what's the safest, and they can't all be right.

PatchWorms are awesome. I own a few of them because they are small, useful and inexpensive. I'd recommend them to everyone...especially over the boresnakes, which I feel is a POS.

The one thing I found about the pistol patchworm is that the purple insert does not work for the 40 S&W/45ACP. It will work on the 45, but not the 40.

I don't know much about the patchworm, but I also don't think very highly of the boresnakes. One of my friends swore to me that it cleaned his pistol well and I told him I didn't think it would. After he cleaned it with the boresnake, I took apart the gun and cleaned it for real, and it still was filthy to my standards. Then again I like a patch to come out without any gunpowder on it. Some might call it obsessive, but that's a good clean pistol to me. Anyway, I think it's better than just letting your gun sit around really dirty, but I still wouldn't use or call a boresnake a substitute for a real cleaning.
