    Default first timer

Hey everyone, i was wanting to know what do i need to go about buying a shotgun. I am 19, and i was curious to know what exactly i need to take to the gun shop, that way i dont make 10 trips back n forth. I was looking at a mossy 500, and the 590, but i just want to know what i would need to take to the gun shop to be in and out. Early thanks,

    Fredstar

Pretty much just need a driver's license (or other state-issued ID) and the ability to pay for it. You should be good to go with that.

thanks, thats all i figured i needed, but its makes me feel more prepared knowing, and i want to go with the mossy 500, because i was told, there was a bundle that came with the long barrel for hunting, and the short barrel for home protection, which i think would be better since my uncle moved down here from Maine and he was hoping on taking me on my first hunting trip so excited, thanks for the quick responce, i'll keep ya'll posted.

I believe the Remington 870 also has a similar package available. I'm a Mossy guy though and I love my 500a (28" vent rib, dual bead, ported).

I almost forgot one thing....AMMO. Start out with some target shells and work your way up. My 500 is rough with heavy loads.

Good point, firing slugs or anything magnum out of that will rough your shoulder up pretty good.
