philipsburg area anyone??

hows everyone doing?? im mike and i just moved from allentown to philipsburg... i currently have my concelment permit and have had one for a while... only problem is i dont own a firearm that i can carry... anywho im wondering if anyone here lives in the area so i can pick their brains about places to go to look, shoot.... that kind of things...

Welcome to the area, looks like you found the right forum and regional section.

I'd recommend reading some of the back posts in this section. You'll see most people shoot at Scotia range state game lands and shop at Belding & Mull (right in your backyard), Grices (Clearfield), Bob's Army Navy (Clearfield), or J&E (Bellefonte).

If you search the firearms forum, you'll probably find discussions on just about anything you are considering. If not, post a new topic.

yeah this one is spelled with 1 l... the one in jersey is spelled with 2 l's

anyone here ever been to east coast gun sales in altoona???

yeah i was down at grice's the other day with a friend of mine... thanks for the welcome guys... hopefully soon i can get the gun i want... i was carrying my grandathers colt 1908 (.25 ACP).... better than nuthin but it needed a new ejector and would double feed once during every mag... so i decided not good and put it down... im actually looking for a springfield xd compact... id like to get one of their 1911's but with the prices they want to me thats not going to happen anytime soon.... anway thanks for havin me here guys..

I can't help with gun shops, but I have family in Philipsburg and the area. If you haven't found it yet, ask the locals about Hi-Way pizza. You'll thank me later.

yup i know where that is.... i live like a block from brothers pizza and they arent too bad... i miss living in allentown though.... taste of italy and rayz pizza are two of the 3 best pizzas ive ever had..... and they dont make good cheese steaks out here.... atleast not as good as they were back home...yeah we... ill be making a trip back to allentown next weekend so i guess ill have to stock up..

Just thought I'd throw my opinion in here. Gricies in Clearfield is probally a good choice to start out. They have a huge selection but don't seem to offer any type of disscount. Then there's J&E in Bellefonte as someone else had mentioned here. There is also a place called Lion Country Supply which is outside Port Matilda as your heading toward Tyrone but I personally don't care for them at all.
My personal favorites are:
East Coast Gun Sales in Altoona
J&E in Bellefonte (good discounts if your LEO or Sheriff's Deputy)
Gricies in Clearfield.
