Re: Arrogance of the so called tolerant
Interesting, my kids are around guns every day and they're not violent. I've taught them that guns are here to protect them from bad people. Seeing someone open carrying a firearm doesn't "teach" anything, but sitting down and talking to your kids does.
It's interesting that the idiots don't address this crap though.

Re: Arrogance of the so called tolerant
I know I should not but I get angry, frustrated and outraged by what they think is a sound reasonable and intelligent ad. It is a major leap in logic to conclude what that ad campaign is suggesting. There is no logic. It is their emotional response to an object. It's childish. It's taking their dislike of firearms and making a demand that everyone think as they do. There position is the only one that is true and everyone else is dismissed. All while arrogantly patting themselves on the back for being open minded, independent thinkers, progressive and tolerant, unlike the knuckle dragging opposition. I'm sick and tired of the condescending and elitist behavior that given time, someday we will get where they are and understand our own ignorance.
These same people that protest against cops and soldiers say only cops and soldiers should have guns. Across the board their position on the issues are contradictory and devoid of rational thought. Yet when pointed out with irrefutable example, they simply double down and attempt to imply we can not grasp on their intellectual level

Re: Arrogance of the so called tolerant
I agree with their ad but probably not the way they intend. Violence on some level is applied through out our society on a daily basis to maintain order. A police force is the first example of a purveyor of institutional violence that springs to mind.
The implication in the case of the police force is comply; or be met with some level of violence. The action could be as benign as a traffic summons or as severe as having your house tossed and your dog slain as you and your family are held at gunpoint...
My point is, the police force is one of many examples in which institutional violence is applied by the state to maintain order. The "violence is not the answer crowd" is full of shit as a Christmas turkey. Take a good look around, violence is OFTEN the answer.Crusader's local #556 South Central Asia chapter
