    Default powder suggestions?

    looking for powder suggestions for .38 special fired from 2 1/4 inch barrel revolver.

    125 gr and/or 158 gr bullets
    most likely copper jacketed

    I think that has "Clays" written all over it. Accurate and likely the cleanest of the fast burners.

    Titegroup and bullseye also.

    I think people have weird ideas of 'clean burning' powders. I shoot both and have yet to see a difference in either .45ACP or .357.

    How light or heavy loads do you want? Unique, Bullseye, Universal Clays, Solo 1000, RedDot, etc, etc, etc can be used. I'm not at home right now so I can't look up any loads in my manuals. Pick up the Lymans reloading manual, chock full of good info. Lymans also has a manual just for Pistols and Revolvers.

    231 is a great one for .38 special and 9 mm.

    Sorry, I'm a Red Dot kinda guy.
    That's all I ever load and get great results.
    I load up 147 grn JHP for my 2inch .38 special for next to my bed defense loads ( in case my dog steals my covers)
