FFL Question???
A friend sold a pistol to a coworker years ago maybe 10-12+ and at that time his friend told him he had a FFL and he would take care of the paperwork.
He had a check done not to long ago & the state has him listed as owner of the 9mm!!!!!! The guy inwhich he sold it to has moved & can't be found. What can he do about this????? THANKS!!!!!"343" Never Forgotten

Re: FFL Question???
If the FFL is held by the individual, he doesn't do much of anything when he buys a gun for himself. It gets recorded in his bound book and he can either leave it on the books or mark it out to his private collection. So there would not have been any "state paperwork" done with it.
Think of it this way, if your friend had gone to a gun shop and sold the gun, it could sit on the shelf in that shop for ten years and the state's illegal database would still show that he was the current owner.
