WTS: Akai / Roberts reel to reel stereo recorders
I have three beautiful Akai / Roberts reel to reel recorders. One Akai M-9 and two Roberts 771x recorders. They are all the exact same machine, Roberts just re-badged the M9 are their own. This started a few years ago when a friend had a reel to reel tape from Vietnam he wanted to play. Nobody had a machine. The quest started on eBay. I bought one then two, soon I had a gaggle of recorders. All broken.........These old reel to reels have problems with the rubber parts drying out. These three have been refurbished with all new drive belts and rollers. They all include the capstan adapter to play 7 1/2 ips.
All have a nice rich sound that you can't get from MP3's.
Any way I am over this hobby so I want to sell two of these. I 'll keep one, you decide which one.
If you search the web you will find refurbished units like these going for $300 to $500. You can have any one of these with the instruction manual and a bunch of tapes for $125.........now that's a deal.
I'd rather sell them local than deal with the shipping hassle of eBay. Local pick up is requested. I may deliver locally. (Scranton / Dunmore )
