Have we lost our sense of compassion for our fellow man?????
After watching the video of the mother killing her son and herself at a shooting range it really has me thinking.
Have we passed the time when we used to help a stranger for no other reason than because it is the right thing to do.
Whatever happened to simple acts of kindness?
When you see someone sad or crying do we stop and try and comfort them?
Do we treat others as we want to be treated?
The fabric of this great Country was that we stuck together and helped others for no reason other than because its what we should do.
Do we support our church and charities like we support our passions and our own self interest?
Do we volunteer our time to try and make a difference in others lives?
I could be very wrong, but it appears to me that many of the tragedies we have witnessed could have been avoided had someone tried to help some of the people who really needed it.

Yeah, I really think we have.....along with the end of personal responsibility comes the end of good smaratinship.....I am not going to help someone in distress because I may get sued for interfering....sad times these are

I have seen the trend toward forgetting that others are suffering, too. We have lost the ability - actually, the care - to have empathy and sympathy. It takes too much energy to have these qualities, so we would rather spend our time and resources on ourselves, failing to remember that all of us are connected.

No, good people will still act, but most will not out of fear of lawsuits even if you save/help the person.
Friend told me he helped tow a car out of a snowbank. Then said that the lady was pissed and wanted his 'info' so she could get the car fixed that he 'damaged' while pulling it out. There was none, the tow rope caused the plastic bumper to rise a little when he pulled by she saw it and said it was ruined.
He walked away.. left the tow rope still tied to the car.
Said never again.
Its not that the good people don't want to help, its that the people who need the help are more than likely assholes and don't deserve your time.
I agree.
