Default Benelli Ultralight - Removal of Bolt Handle

I have a Benelli Ultralight 20 ga, and I need to clean it. The manual states that to remove the bolt you must first tug firmly on the bolt handle to get that off. I have tried to pull on the handle, and it won't budge. Is there a trick to get the handle off? Thanks for your help.

I dont know if is the same as a friend of mines, but ...here goes.....

You pull the bolt about 1/3 of the way back..... then pull outward on the handle and it SHOULD come out...

    GOOD LUCK.....

Take an old sturdy shoe lace or lenght of parachute cord.
    Make a Loop with it.
Loop the one end under/around the bolt handle.
    Hank it straight out.
Wouldn't you like to know what's in my safe.

    Thanks, Gun Bowanna!

This makes sense rather than using pliers that would damage the handle. After posting, I read on Shotgunworld.com that initially it is very difficult to remove the handle. Later, it becomes easier.
