Default 1st hand exp. w/ Kahr P9 or Glock 26

So I narrowed down my choices of winter, OWB carry guns to these two fine pieces. My local shop has both (used, in great condition, nightsights), I've handled and fired both, and they both feel great, in different ways, in my hand. Assuming price is not an issue, I am comfortable with the capacity and concealability of both, and ALL things being equal, I guess I'm just looking for some first-hand advice from anyone who has carried either/both for some time. Pluses, minuses, advice, etc. would be MUCH appreciated, as I am having a terrible time deciding. Thanks a lot guys.

I have the K9 (all steel kahr)

It fits much better in my hand and is a good quality gun. Only downside is the limited capacity.

I currently carry a Kahr P9 Covert which is now a discontinued firearm.

This pistol is normally my BUG but I probably carry it more than my primary Glock23,especially in summer or at work.

It is essentially a P9 with a 1/2" shorter grip or same length grip length as a PM9. It also has a 1/2' longer barrel than the PM9 with very little impact on concealability.

I like the pistol. It is concealable in a pocket holster (Kytac pockit lockit), an IWB holster (Mitch Rosen) Clipper DL or on the ankle in a Desantis Apache Pics at bottom.

I cut and pasted these dimensions from another forum.
I want to keep the pistol under / around low $500.00 range and no larger than the Glock 26, Kahr P9, or Kahr PM9.

Glock 26: Length 6.29 in (slide), Height 4.7 in, Width 1.18 in

    Kahr P9: Length O/A 6.0" , Height 4.5" , Width .90"

    Kahr PM9: Length O/A 5.35" , Height 4.0" , Slide Width .94"

    End of cut and paste

    Another cut and pasted link.

I have one of the original K9s as well. The all steel frame is heavier than the polymer ones...no big surprise there. Good side to that weight though is it helps tame the recoil. I can fire +P rounds out of it that feel like .38s from a service sized revolver. Normal hollow points are almost like a .22 out of it. All in all a good quality firearm.

I carried the G26 for years before switching to the Kahr P9. The Kahr is a much lighter and slimmer gun. I would go with the Kahr without a doubt for your needs. In fact, I like the Kahr...and then I would go straight to the G19. The G19 carries just as well as the G26....and packs more rounds.

The Kahr P9 is a super carry gun!

Thanks a TON fellas! Buckmark, I believe you just sealed the deal. You know what wierd? I have pretty big hands so I expected to not shoot the Kahr well because the grip is so slim, but I shoot it great and it feels great in my hand. Very strange, probably mostly the good barrel and tight fit and finish. Anyway, I believe I will go with the Kahr. And yes, the G19 is on the horizon. I have a G17 no, which I love, but it lives in my nightstand because its so damn big. Seems like a G19 could pull some double duty, not giving up much capacity while being a feasable carry piece. Thanks again!
