Scope for an M&P 15 - thoughts?
I'm looking for a scope for my M&P 15-22 (yeah the .22 lr) since the 22 isn't going to be a distance shooter I was figuring a red dot would do fine. However I got to thinking about the crossbow that I just sold - I hated it because if it was bright outside it was impossible to see either the red or green dot. I don't want that to be the case on my rifle since there are times I will be shooting when its sunny out! I forget what brand was on my crossbow so I'm no use there ...
If it was your call what would you put on? I don't want to go overboard since the gun is a plinker. Red dot, crosshair recticle, circle recticle, etc? My dealer showed me a really cool red dot that had built in iron sights on the top of the unit but it was around $149 which seems sort of over kill for a $500 gun.
I also checked out this deal at Buds --> http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/p...ducts_id=48617 not sure of its quality thought.
So tell me what ya think ...

I'm thinking it's a very cheap red dot, but on the other hand for $20 what can you except. Go for it it cost's less than a case of beer.

any scope designed for a air rifle, .22 or airsoft gun will work well.
but for my GSG-5 i use the NcStar Mark III Tactical 3-9x42 scope. it works really well, has clear glass, and a nice zoom. once sighted in, its dead on even if i detach it and put it back on. i picked it up on ebay for $68
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

I'd probably going with a red dot from Primary Arms. I like the micro but he is sold out. His sights are higher quality than most of the Chinese stuff. They work great on real guns.

That is the exact one my dealer showed me with the sort of iron sites on top. I do like it.

IMO Barska products are absolute junk. They should have their license to inport into the US revoked! Are you determined to use a red dot? You should be reaching out to at least 100 yards with the 22lr, with a red dot you wont even know if your hits are on target. How about a 3x9 or something?
