that is in very poor taste. you list an item for sale, there is interest, so you decide to auction it off for a higher price???

    no thanks.

in hind sight i would agree that this may be in poor taste, but what is the right answer. oh i bet i know,
    just sell it to you.

    thanks for you reply.
imo, the proper thing to do would be to sell them to the first one to reply. if it was me, please disregard my offer to buy, as i dont wish to do business with the type of seller who would act like this.if you wanted more you should have asked for more.

maybe im just off, i was raised with the idea that people need to be responsible and trustworthy, and you could go by their word. that seems to be a dead notion now a days, i guess??

    what does the PAFOA think?????

IMHO, the right thing to do is sell it to the first one who posts or PMs "I'll take it"

I'd have to agree with you...first response should get the goods. He had a price specified so it should be cut and dried. If he wanted to take offers, he shouldn't have specified a price in the first place.

I think he posted the price as $100... the first person to say I will take it, should get it.

He stated a price, not a range, not best offer.

I have my rifle. Do you?

I believe the OP lists the terms of the sale, and if you have a problem with it...

You tell the seller that switching to the offer system is in poor taste an then you post his private message in public? This is nothing more than a public bitch against the seller. Keep it in PM please.

Now, if you have a problem with the classifieds rules in general, please post a thread in support & suggestions. This thread, calling out the specifics of this deal, or no deal, is not the purpose of the general discussion forum.

I happen to agree that ads should have a price and the seller should honor the first come first served approach. Post a thread in support and suggestions without the personal dealings info. Maybe the rules will be amended if there is enough interest.

actually, the proper post about sellers or buyers should always go in the "feedback" section of the classifieds.
