Default Grips for Mark III 22/45

Any chance someone knows of a grip that fits a Ruger Mark III 22/45? I am in need of something with a thumb shelf for a right handed shooter. I have been searching and even on the Ruger web site I can't find anything for the 22/45. I realize the 22/45 was built to mimic a 1911, but thats not why I bought it. I have large hands and my pinky is not griping much on the bottom. I am sure I can get used to it the way it is. I would prefer something larger, but I really want the thumb shelf. Any help would be wonderful!

You might want to go to www.rugerforum.com or www.rugerforum.net and pose your question there. These are two forums that are almost exclusively dedicated to Rugers and the members there are very knowledgeable about who makes different parts for Rugers.

both the 22/45 mk2 and mk3 (i own the mk3) don't have interchangable grips that i know of. on ar15.com i saw a post where a guy modified his mkIII to accept regular 1911 grip panels

if you did that then you could have any 1911 grips you wanted. hope this helped ya.
Go head, skin it. Skin that smoke wagon and see what happens.

I'll do a search, but would you happen to have a link to it?

http://www.hogueinc.com/getgrip/merc...?id=114&step=2 there it is, get the full size and like i said it made it so much better, may i suggest as well mount your picattiny rails on it and buy a lasermax accessory laser to put on the rail, works good but i also have the colored front site which the laser shines through
