    Thumbs up 357 vs 327

i'll be picking up new sp101 in 357 for myself in cpl weeks. had one before and wife like to shoot it , since i got her started in shooting i created a monster, she studies up on stuff waches all the shooting shows with me and really ask good questions about things . so now after i pick up my sp101 she says it only fair she gets one also. but she wants in 327. all i know about the new round is what i read. dose anybody have any real experiance with this round. like 1 how recoil compared to say 38plus p, 2 how loud of report dose it have. 3 cost of ammo compared to 38 & 357 wich i reload. could try to talk her into taking a sp101 in 357 and shoot 38s in it but she really wants a 327 any info would be helpful beside you know what they say , if momma aint happy nobody is happy thanks

they had a segment on the 327 last week on Guns and ammo TV.

2/3rd the recoil of the 357 and more powere then a 38 +p+ according to the show.

I don't think its the "miracle" round that these "middle rounds" always get touted as but it sounds like a solid self defense round for people who can't effectively handle the recoil of the larger rounds.

The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

the .327 is a snappy round. You're probably better off with the .357 so you can shoot .38 in it.

The .327 it will shoot 32 S&W Short, 32 S&W Long and .32 Mag. With this range there is everything from powder puff loads to romper stompers. The .32 Mag. will get up into the mid-range .38 spcl. territory. The powder needed to load a round will make the .38 spcl look like a spend thrift. Our .32 Mag is a blast to shoot and I wish that there was a way to step it up to a .327.

I dont know anything about the round but I do know how important it is to keep the wife happy. Get the 327.

The American Rifleman did a write up on the .327. On paper at least, it looks like a better choice than .38 +P. Particularly as regards penetration.

Not a lot of actuals on it though...
