Mongtomery County parks
How is Montco still getting away with having posted no firearms signs????? Is the sheriff still enforcing it? All the threads I found are from 2009 and 2010 I didn't realize this was still a thing until I went to green lane park this weekend.

Re: Mongtomery County parks
Picture, please. I've never seen one there, but I'm not actively looking, either.

Concealed is concealed. If there's no metal detector, I give no shit.

Ok, there is NO "No firearms" signs or rules. See image below. Some may argue the legality of the "no discharging" rule, but frankly if it WERE allowed, every jerk from far and wide would be shooting at trees, rocks, the water, invisible enemies, birds, planes, and maybe even the moon.rules_small.jpg

Isn't the smoking ban also illegal in these public parks/sports fields?

Ok so they are saying you can't target shoot or hunt in the park.
As for BB guns, pellet guns, air guns, paintball, etc.. There are ordinances against all of those things on the book around here and since none of them reach the level of "firearm" there isn't much to be done about it.
You aren't even supposed to teach your kid to shoot a BB gun in your backyard here, it's like a $1,000 fine and confiscation of the "dangerous item."

Re: Mongtomery County parks
I don't want people shooting at a county park. There are plenty of places in Pa, where one can 'teach their kid to shoot BB gun'. Let's put this in perspective...PEOPLE ARE STUPID! Would you want to be hiking or picnicking in a county park and some dousche bag hits your kid with a pellet?
I live a mile from Green Lane reservoir, there are game lands galore and other places you could go. Montg. county is densely populated and a place where city slickers such as yourself go to escape the shite hole that is Philly. Cheers and Merry Christmas!!
