Just want to gauge the room on thoughts on a 1911 for carry. Knowing all the advantages/disadvantages which make/model would you carry?

Lol, that your preferred choice of carry gun?
To answer the OP*s question. 1911 wouldn*t be my first choice to carry for many reasons, but if I did I*d get one known for reliability and shoot it a lot to confirm reliability. I*d go with a Staccato, technically a 2011 but very reliable guns.Today was a good day!

Re: 1911 for carry. a production or a custom model?
I carry 1911 always! Most reliable gun ever made, won two World Wars, and several minor ones. Get one in the everyday variety, not a really expensive one with scary-looking grips and a red laser. Those things really don*t play well in front of a jury. Also, go with off the shelf ammo, and not the *Limb Ripper 6000* either. Get a good, reliable name brand ammo.
