Default Opinions on full size M&P 9mm

Does anybody have any opinions on the M&P 9mm after they have a good number of rounds through it? I'm basically trying to decide between that and a Beretta 92fs for nightstand/range use. I know, I know, apples and oranges, but I have an M&P9c for carry so the full size makes sense, but the 92fs is the sexiest pistol ever made and feels great in my hands as well. The Glock 17 was in the mix originally and, if I was taking it to Afganistan it still would be, but for my light duty I'd like to try something new (have had a lot of Glocks). Anyway, the local shop has a nice deal on an M&P with CT grips on it, so if anyone has any long term positives or negatives on it I'd love to hear them. Thank you!

I have a full size M&P.40, basically the same thing aesthetically. I love it, love the low profile slide. The thing shoots like a 9mm, very low recoil, so I can't imagine how nice its gonna be to shoot it in 9mm. I've never had a miss feed in mine, with many rounds through it.

I have the M&P 40 full size as well. Flawless. I shot an IPSC match with it after only having about 100 rounds through it. Flawless. I shot our low light training last night which included single handed use. Flawless.

I like how it points, shoots and is overall. I don't have a problem recommending it. Note that I have no experience with the 92FS so I can't compare them.

    i have M&P9 full size(and M&P9C, and M&P45), and I love it.
I traded Beretta 92 for it 4 years ago.

And i never regret the decision!

Its dependable, accurate, fits my hand well, and good looking pistol IMO(although my Beretta was nice looking gun as well, since mine was INOX.. Should have kept it, and bought M&P separately is what I should have done..)

I carried my full size 9 for 3 years. I then replaced it with M&P9C, and retired my full size M&P9 as bed side gun with TLR-2.THen I recently retired her as my bed side gun, and replaced it with M&P45. My M&P9 now reside on Mrs.Mitys's side.

All my M&P has been trouble free. My compact took about 50rds or so to run smoothly, however.
my full size 9 have shot good 7000+ rounds, and all it needed was to replace guiderod at 5000rds per S&W's recommendation.
Compact now have 3000+rds, and dream to shoot, and my trusted side arm.
M&P45 is somewhat new. Have shot may be 700 or so. It have had Berwell's magic done to its trigger, and is trouble free - Only issue was that mine came from S&W with 2 medium grip insert, and large insert. My gunshop did order small insert, and then have them now. I just have to go pick it up..

Basicaly, yeah I love the stinking thing!

Very populare with the guys I shoot IDPA with. I just switched over, so I really can't give you much of a report. But there are a lot of them at the range on game day. Must be some reason for that.

I have both a full-size M&P 9mm and a 9c, well actually two of each, one pair for me and one pair for the wife. I have quite a few rounds through both size versions and am quite pleased with both pistols. I think that it tmakes a lot of sense to have the same platform gun for the bedroom and for concealed carry. If bad things happen at oh-dark-thirty you want to have as few variables to think about as is possible. Just my opinion.

Exactly the reason why I have 3 of them. Both me and my wife can manupulate them in dark, or pull out of my holster, and point and shoot without think about it if need to be.
I love all my other guns, but M&P pratform is one that we are used to..

I cant speak to the full sized 9, but I can tell you that my 9c travels everywhere I do - absolutely fantastic. Reliable, looks good, feels good, shoots great!

Im not a fan of Glock aesthetics so I went the SW M&P9c route - and am very pleased at the choice.

If you're between a M&P, Beretta 92FS, and a Glock... I would shop features, first.

Slide mounted safety DA/SA, versus safe action is a big difference.

Any of the above should work just fine. The Beretta will be more sensitive to being well lubricated, though.
