Re: Firearm Cleaning
I just bought a can of Hoppes Bore cleaner in a spray can... I have used it on my pistols with pretty good sucess. I will be trying it on my M4 after my next FTX. I will let you know how it works out.

Re: Firearm Cleaning
I use brake-free CLP, and that has worked pretty damn well for me.

Re: Firearm Cleaning
I have used the Gunslick foaming bore cleaner for a few years now and it works well. I use it in combination with a bore snake and cleaning the barrel is easy.

Re: Firearm Cleaning
Some of the fancier CLP's make cleaning easier. Clean it with say Weaponshield and the next cleaning will be easier and so on. It build's up a a layer that crud doesn't stick to. I never found Hoppes 9 and the Hoppes oil to work that great.

Re: Firearm Cleaning
powder blast by CLP works very well, gets gunk out that you didnt know was there. just dont get it on any plastic or it will turn it white and wont come off.
i've also used non-chlorinated brake cleaner and it does the job just as well. i mostly use the brake cleaner on my AR though, stick to the powder blast for my pistols

Re: Firearm Cleaning
I use the CLP powder bast as well... but sometimes scrubbing is necessary. I've found a denture cleaning brush that works much better than a standard toothbrush. Bristles are a little firmer and you don't need to scrub as hard.
