First steps taken and money spent...now I just need a gun!
Well all of my Amazon credits cleared so I now have the Gunvault Multi-Deluxe on the way. The only problem is that I don't have anything to currently put into it. I nearly got a storage cabinet, but even though it was less, it's still not a safe...or I was just impatient and I got the one I could have tomorrow and not today. lol Kidding aside I think it's better to start with handguns and get my wife used to them, before I get rifles and shotguns.
I just wish Amazon sold guns and Ammo, or allowed you to get gift cards with money purchased from gifts cards. Now I need to find someone willing to trade goods from Amazon (even if it does entail risks)....or just find goods I would normally have to buy with cash and convince my wife to do a swap deal....yeah like that'll work.
Still I just wanted to thank everyone for all the help so far or remember if you need Christmas, Hanukkah, random crap et al, you can trade that firearm in at Amazon! lol
EDIT: One idea is get that cheap 1911 .22 that Tanners sells for 219. I mean that's really damn cheap and easy to keep filled....but it just feels like 9MM is so much better to start with.Last edited by gfanikf; October 21st, 2011 at 03:31 PM.

Re: First steps taken and money spent...now I just need a gun!
Trust me after holding the Colt Commando at Classic Pistol and the MP5 .22 clone. I'd love to have those. Guy at Classic Pistol made a good point a guy see's you with one of those after breaking in, he's not going to know or try and find out if it's a .22. Shotguns are fun too, though I need to find a left handed one.
Part of the problem was at first I was going to cancel the gunvault and get the storage locker, but I couldn't do so in time. That said I feel that one nice thing with the Gunvault is I can easily hide it in a dozen places, plus perhaps further working on handguns is best for the moment and acclimating my wife to having one in the house. A handgun is a bit more out of sight out of mind vs a Remington 870.

Why do people who work at gun shops say stupid shit like that? You should have told him, if the look prevents its use, then an airsoft would do just fine and left the store. People are idiots....

My point was is that it was bullshit advise from someone who probably knows better.
